Frequently asked

Questions at the window

Straight answers for planners, committees and hosts.

Play-money entertainment only. No real gambling. Fun Bucks are for prizes only.

01What is a Night at the Races?

A fully hosted party game built around horse racing. Our vetted professional race hosts show 8–10 filmed races on a big screen, run a tote betting window with play-money Fun Bucks, and call the action so the whole room cheers. Top Fun Bucks earners win prizes. We bring it to venues across Boca Raton.

02Is this real gambling?

No. Guests bet with Fun Bucks — play money for prizes only. No real money is wagered, won or paid out by us. It is entertainment only.

03Who handles charity gaming permits?

You do. Your organization is responsible for knowing and following local charitable-gaming rules and obtaining any required permits. We provide play-money entertainment only and do not run real-money gambling.

04How many races do you run?

Typically 8–10 filmed races, paced around your program, dinner and speeches.

05How long does the program run?

Most race programs run about 2 to 3 hours including betting windows between races and the prize ceremony. We set up before guests arrive and break down after the last race. Extra race hours are available as an add-on.

06How much space and power do you need?

A spot for the screen with clear sightlines from guest seating, a small footprint for the tote/betting window, and standard power outlets. We confirm the room plan with you or your venue before the event.

07Can it be indoors or outdoors?

Indoors is ideal because screens read best out of direct sun. Covered or evening outdoor setups can work — tell us about the space and we'll recommend the right AV.

08Do you bring the screen and sound?

Yes. We bring a projector, screen and sound, or work with your venue's in-house AV if you prefer.

09Is the hat contest included?

A hat & fashion contest emcee is included in the Signature package and the Full Derby Experience bundle. It can be added to other packages, along with a hat decorating station.

10Can we add a jazz band or DJ Sax?

Yes. Our sister brands offer the Great Gatsby Jazz Band and Background Jazz Band, and DJ Sax is available as an add-on. Bundles like the Derby Party Duo put everything on one quote.

11Kentucky Derby party or year-round race night — what's the difference?

Same hosted format. A Kentucky Derby Party leans into hats, roses and Derby décor in the spring season. A year-round Night at the Races works for any date — corporate events, galas, holiday parties and private celebrations.

12How far ahead should we book?

Spring Derby dates and December holiday weekends book first, so 2–4 months ahead is wise. We can sometimes accommodate shorter timelines with a rush booking add-on.

13Is a deposit required?

Payment terms depend on your customized package and contract

14Where do you travel?

We serve Boca Raton, including Boca Raton and nearby communities. Events outside our service area may include a travel fee.

15Do you carry insurance? Can you provide a COI?

Yes. A certificate of insurance (COI) is available for venues that require one — just send us the venue's requirements.

16What does "starting at" pricing mean?

Listed prices are a starting point for an event.
